2019 Year in Review
The digital projects are aimed at promoting Russian geopolitical interests and facilitating the international relations through cultural exchange, education and new technologies. The geography of the projects spans across the CIS and beyond.
The projects are mainly focused on:

1. Promoting best practices of raising the level of digital literacy among school children, comprehensive education in IT and coding in Russian schools abroad with the primary focus on the EAEU countries.

Organisation of advanced training in foreign countries for teachers of Russian schools abroad in priority competences of digital economy.
Students
Organisation and hosting of educational events in foreign countries to attract talented international students to study in Russian universities in IT or other areas relevant for digital economy. This includes developing and holding qualification tests and challenges.
Talents
Organisation and hosting of educational and motivational events in foreign countries to attract talented people living abroad to come and work in Russia, including the cooperation arrangements with with international HR networks.
The projects are supported by the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) as part of the federal project Personnel for Digital Economy in line with the national programme Digital Economy of the Russian Federation according to Decree No.547 of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 3 May 2019 On Approval of the Guidelines for Issuing Grants in Form of Subsidies from the Federal Budget to Non-Profit Organisations for Events Aimed at Promoting Best Practices of Improving Digital Literacy among Students of Russian Schools Abroad.
Goals
Employ new contemporary formats of interaction with children, young people and foreigners using key digital technologies and new areas of knowledge; provide additional support for the existing incentives aimed at attracting young people from around the world to study in Russia and to participate in collaborative projects and events.
Promote international collaboration by providing a collaborative educational environment, sharing best practices in digital literacy and other competencies of digital economy, promoting interactions via mass media and supporting other forms of long-term cooperation between the participants of the projects.
Expand local access points around the world for up-to-date and diverse information about Russia as a country with technological expertise, Russian education and culture as well as to opportunities to cooperate with Russian non-profit organisations and to participate in collaborative projects and events.

Grants of Rossotrudnichestvo
In 2019, Rossotrudnichestvo issued grants for 27 projects aimed at promoting conscious digital behaviour, improving digital literacy skills, creating local digital products, training computer programming skills and other aspects of IT world. This includes educational courses on digital educational platforms for students and teachers of Russian schools abroad, online educational programmes, international academic competitions, etc.

Projects of Rossotrudnichestvo
The projects of Rossotrudnichestvo are aimed at developing the digital economy, including such areas as cyber security, blockchain, VR, neural networks, AI and Big Data.

Many of the projects are implemented in a hackathon format (a marathon for young coders, designers and other IT specialists to join their efforts to create new projects).

As part of the projects, Rossotrudnichestvo cooperates with leading Russian universities and companies such as RUDN University, Financial University, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, MAKO, IBS Group, etc.

The mission of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) as part of the federal project Personnel for Digital Economy in line with the nationwide programme Digital Economy of the Russian Federation is to secure, through its events and initiatives, Russia's geopolitical interests by promoting cultural exchange, education and new technologies, as well as to build stronger relations and cooperation worldwide by preserving the highest level of professionalism, efficiency and sustainable development.
