Digital Economy World Olympiad
the Digital Economy Federal Project
WORLD OLIMPYAD ON PERSPECTIVE AREAS OF DIGITAL ECONOMY
Rossotrudnichestvo implements projects aimed at promoting the geopolitical interests of Russia in the fields of culture, education and new technologies, as well as strengthening international relations while maintaining the principles of high professionalism, efficiency and sustainable development. The projects are implemented within the framework of the federal project "Personnel for the Digital Economy" of the national program "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation".
The objectives of the Olympiad are:
1
identification and support of talented foreign students studying in the field of information and communication technologies to stimulate education and professional activities in the Russian Federation;
2
the formation of the information space of knowledge;
3
the formation of motivation for students in bachelor's and master's programs in the field of information and communication technologies to increase the level of development of digital competencies and adapt their own educational paths to the goals of digital society development;
4
ensuring the improvement of additional education.
1.
forming partnerships between Russian and foreign higher education systems (universities - teachers - students);
2.
support for talented students in the field of mathematics, computer science and technology of the digital economy;
3.
attracting foreign students with outstanding abilities in perspective areas of the digital economy to continue their studies in the Russian Federation and ensuring the contribution to the development of relevant areas within the framework of internships in the Russian Federation; providing the digital economy of the Russian Federation with competent personnel;

Topics (nominations)
The Olympiad includes ten nominations: neurotechnologies and artificial intelligence, distributed register systems, quantum technologies, new manufacturing technologies, industrial internet, robotics and sensor components, wireless technologies, virtual and augmented reality technologies, data science and big data.

100 points
Tasks are scored. Each task has its own cost depending on the complexity. The maximum number of points per stage in each nomination is 100 points.
40 tasks
The task bank for each nomination contains at least 40 tasks, including at least 25 tasks for the undergraduate level and at least 15 for the master's level.
46 countries
Students mastering the educational programs of undergraduate (specialty) or master's programs in the field of information and communication technologies in educational institutions of higher education located in at least 46 countries of the CIS and foreign countries take part in the Olympics.
Olympiad is held in three stages
  • first (qualifying) round in the remote (online) format: everyone from the target audience of the Olympiad can participate;
  • the second round in the distance (online) format: winners and prize winners participate of the first (qualifying) round participate;
  • final in-person format (Moscow) for the absolute winners and prize-winners in nominations from each participating country.
1ST STAGE
JANUARY 27 - FEBRUARY 14
Preliminaries, held online via Stepik educational platform. You can choose several nominations.

2ND STAGE
FEBRUARY 17-21
Intermediate one based on the results of the 1st stage, held online via Stepik educational platform.

3RD STAGE
MARCH 25-26
Final, held face to face in Moscow. Winners and runners-up of online stages will be invited to Moscow for final and high-profile award ceremony at the expense of the organizers.
