NEW DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN SCHOOLS
International exhibitions New Digital Technologies in Schools held in 2019 as part of the nationwide programme Digital Economy of the Russian Federation approved by the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Strategic Development and National Projects of the Russian Federation (minutes dated 24 December 2018 No. 16)
New Digital Technologies in Schools
International exhibitions arranged by the Bauman Moscow State Technical University
Across in-person and distant activities, participants may attend lectures, workshops, master classes, webinars and hackathons guided by the leading Russian scientists and experts in the following areas of interest: VR technologies, artificial intelligence, additive technologies, natural language processing, information security and
computer-assisted engineering systems. The programme envisages master classes in virtual reality for digital
materials science and the master class in 3D modelling, where each participant may create their own 3D model in reliance upon their knowledge and imagination and take it with them.

Master class participants will learn that 3D modelling is the process of creating a three-dimensional object model. 3D modelling is aimed at developing the three-dimensional visual image of the desired object. 3D graphics allow creating an exact copy of the real object and developing something completely new and fantastic. 3D modelling is real art offering wide prospects for those wishing to master it! The 3D modelling master class will start with answering basic questions, whereupon its participants will create their own 3D model in reliance upon their expertise and imagination and take it with them.

MASTER CLASSES FOR CHILDREN IN BRUSSELS
On 5–7 March, Matrjoshka early development and art school in Izegem and the Brussels school of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Belgium hosted fun and educational workshops for children organised by Inginirium BMSTU as part of the international series of events New Digital Technologies at School. The events were supported by Rossotrudnichestvo and its branch in Belgium, the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Brussels.

At the master class the junior school students figured out how 3D pens were made and functioned, and created a project with the aid of additive technologies. Children coped with the work individually or in teams. All the children coped with the task under the guidance of the BMSTU professors.

For students of grades 6–11, Inginirium organised a virtual lab workshop. The children attended a session on composite materials and their studies using VR technology – the innovative educational solutions.

Children learned how composites were made using vacuum infusion and in a practical part of the workshop they built an airplane wing in VR. Thanks to this practical format, the participants learned about production technologies which they would have never be able to learn about in a regular class.
As officially declared and recommended by Rossotrudnichestvo, the international exhibitions abroad will take place after the restrictions are lifted due to the threat of proliferating the new COVID-19 coronavirus disease.
The time and duration of the events is to be announced.

The mission of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo) as part of the federal project Personnel for Digital Economy in line with the nationwide programme Digital Economy of the Russian Federation is to secure, through its events and initiatives, Russia's geopolitical interests by promoting cultural exchange, education and new technologies, as well as to build stronger relations and cooperation worldwide by preserving the highest level of professionalism, efficiency and sustainable development.
